30 Day Shred Results

UPDATE: I have since completed a second round of the Shred.  Check out my results (including before/after weight, photos and measurements) HERE!

I began Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred on January 1, 2011, and did it for 30 consecutive days; 10 days per level.  Here are a few before and after photos . . .

My overall strength, especially upper body, has benefited greatly from this workout plan, and I'm excited about the changes to come in the next month, as I'm planning to include far more cardio in my schedule than I did throughout January.  Next progress photos will be posted sometime in March.

Stay tuned! :)

  1. Great job, Chandra! I love your dedication and you look great!

  2. Chandra, You look good!
I am going to start Jillians 30 day shred as well...but how do you put that into your exercise on myfitnesspal?

  3. Thank you!! If you don't have a HRM, you can enter it into myfitnesspal under 'Circuit Training, General'. Good luck!! :)

  4. I just started the program and is super hard!!! May I ask how many pounds you lost?
    You are looking great!!!

  5. It is definitely hard! Great job on starting it, and I hope it goes well for you! Thank you!! To be completely honest, I didn't lose more than maybe a pound throughout the entire 30 days. However, I gained MUCH strength by building muscle all month long (and, muscle strengthening helps boost metabolism!). BUT, I am happy to report that since adding more cardio to my routine since January 31st, I have quickly dropped 3 pounds within a week. Best wishes! :)

  6. WOW!!!! 3 pounds in a week is amazing!! Im also trying to get on the treadmill but is difficult for me to do it now since Im barely starting I don't want to overdue it...
Best wishes to you as well!!!

  7. Thank you!!! I was very pleased, to say the least! I started out on the treadmill last February (can hardly believe it's been a year!) with a program called Couch to 5K (or, C25K for short). It's a 9-week app/program that starts you out slowly and builds you up to being able to run for 30 minutes straight. Check it out, it may be of help to you! Good luck! :)

  8. This is a really good workout. It's geared a little more to advanced exercisers, but the choreography is fairly basic and you will definately feel this the next day.
There are three workouts that combine toning and aerobics together which are about a half an hour each. This way, you're burning fat and toning muscles at the same time. It's a little challenging, but fun and effective.

  9. Hi Chandra! Good for you, you look great! I'm doing 30day shred, combined with "Banish fat boost metabolism" because the latter is actually workout without weights, and I sweat 2x more (cardio is what I need. Maybe you can incorporate that too after you finish 30 days :)
I really couldn't do exercises every day, I take a day break in between and combine 2 videos. Been doing them for 3 weeks, and I too didn't loose more than 2 pounds :( BUT, I have so much less fat on my back-waist line :)
So lots of support from me to! (found your blog by accident, I looked for reviews)
